Fabric Technician – Stansted Mountfitchet – £38,000

Location: Stansted Mountfitchet
Salary: £38,000 (with potential increase based on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

PRS Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer to join a dedicated maintenance team at a prestigious commercial site near Stansted. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in general fabric maintenance and a passion for delivering high standards of work in a commercial environment.

You’ll be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, supporting the upkeep of a large blue-chip static office site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General fabric maintenance including painting, minor carpentry, tiling, and decorating
2. Touch-ups, hinge adjustments, blind installations/repairs, lock changes
3. Minor furniture repairs and equipment assembly (e.g. chairs, desks)
4. Office reconfigurations and furniture moves
5. Floor tile (carpet/ceramic) and ceiling tile replacements
6. Cleaning of ceiling grilles
7. Supporting other engineers on-site as needed

Requirements:

1. Relevant City & Guilds qualifications (e.g., Bricklaying, Plastering, Tiling, Painting & Decorating)
2. Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
3. Broad knowledge of general fabric duties including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
4. Strong communication and excellent customer service skills
