Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced building fabric engineer within our team on the Liverpool University Contract. You should possess excellent hand dexterity and an eye for detail, be able to work with minimal supervision, and adhere to all health and safety standards. A good knowledge of material properties and understanding of fabric-based construction are also essential.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  1. General Building Fabric Repairs
  2. Roofing and 2nd Fix Repair
  3. Calculate the size and amount of material needed after performing measurements
  4. Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials (such as fiberglass) according to measurements
  5. Review sites and conduct repairs or maintenance

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Relevant City and Guilds/NVQ Qualification
  • Significant experience with carpentry materials and using electrical/manual tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of installation and construction techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings, and follow safety guidelines
  • Practical experience in the building service industry
  • Proactive attitude
  • High standard of workmanship
  • Teamwork skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality service
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when required
  • Full UK driving license
  • IPAF and PASMA certifications are desirable but not essential
