As part of our Womenswear Fabric department, you’ll be joining as our Fabric Developer, responsible for managing fabric sourcing and development of all soft product areas, from sampling to bulk order placement. You will ensure the soft product range aligns with brand direction, quality standards, and margin goals, while supporting the senior fabric manager in enhancing sustainability credentials each season.

Who you are
  • You have experience in fabric sourcing and development in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of fabric sourcing and development across different quality levels, from lower to high end.
  • You are a strong team player with leadership skills.
  • You possess high fabric taste levels and have strong market and commercial awareness.
  • You can perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, working with tight deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously.
What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the Senior Fabric Manager in sourcing and developing fabric collections, including building and presenting fabric trend boards each season.
  • Responsible for sourcing fabric ranges that reflect Reiss’s aesthetic and meet high-quality standards. Travel to mills and trade shows will be required, focusing on print and soft woven categories.
  • Collaborating closely with design and product development teams to ensure a balanced product range that meets target margins.
  • Driving continuous improvement in core fabrications, exploring new options, and proposing suggestions to optimize business and profit margins.
  • Procuring yarn and fabric, negotiating prices, lead times, and payment terms for seasonal greige orders. Communicating critical information to production and buying teams, including booking deadlines and price validations.
  • Assisting the senior fabric manager in gathering data for seasonal strategies, including commodity prices, pre-season fabric data, and sustainability metrics.
