Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable cleaner for Oakhill Academy, Barnsley. You will join a friendly team responsible for keeping classrooms, offices and washrooms clean and welcoming for pupils and staff.

No experience is required as full training is provided from day one. The role involves physical work, adherence to safety guidelines, and occasional deep cleans during school holidays. Applications welcome from all backgrounds, with safeguarding checks in place.

Responsibilities

• Keep classrooms, offices and washrooms clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Carry out cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and bin emptying.
• Sanitise washrooms and restock hygiene supplies (soap, towels).
• Follow health and safety and COSHH guidelines; use cleaning equipment safely.
• Occasionally perform deep cleans during school holidays and help secure the site.

What You'll Be Doing

Working as part of a friendly team, you will keep classrooms, offices and washrooms fresh and tidy.

• Carrying out everyday cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying bins.
• Sanitising washrooms and keeping hygiene supplies (soap, paper towels) fully stocked.
• Using cleaning equipment and products safely (we will teach you all the Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines).
• Carrying out occasional deep cleans during school holiday periods.
• Helping lock or unlock the site and keeping the school premises secure.
