Matchtech is working on behalf of a prestigious Formula One team to recruit a Structural Test Engineer for their cutting-edge Test & Development (T&D) Group.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of F1 technology, planning and delivering critical structural tests for major car components, including wings, floors, and chassis impact structures. If you're passionate about data, precision, and enhancing the strength, speed, and lightness of components, this is your ideal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and execute structural testing activities both on-site and off-site.
  2. Collaborate with design engineers to interpret testing requirements.
  3. Work with T&D technicians on test setup, rig assembly, and data acquisition.
  4. Create detailed test protocols, select sensors/transducers, and analyze test data.
  5. Produce accurate and comprehensive test reports, ensuring proper data logging and storage.
  6. Contribute ideas to improve equipment and methodologies within the T&D department.
  7. Represent the values of honesty, inclusion, and collaboration within the team.
What We're Looking For:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Motorsport Engineering.
  • Experience in testing or R&D within motorsport, aerospace, or similar fields.
  • Strong knowledge of data logging systems, measurement techniques, and sensor selection.
  • Familiarity with composite materials and their behavior under load.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • A genuine interest in test data and validation engineering.

This is a full-time, office-based role located at the team's high-performance campus in Motorsport Valley, with occasional travel to off-site testing facilities.
