Job description

F1 Press Officer (London, UK)

As an F1 Press Officer you will play a pivotal role in shaping the FIA’s public perception and ensuring effective media relations in Formula 1. By managing press operations, coordinating media events and the F1 accreditation process, you will contribute to the FIA’s credibility and global influence as the governing body of motorsport

This high-impact role requires strategic communication, diplomacy, and seamless coordination at the pinnacle of motorsport.

As an F1 Press officer, you will report directly to the F1 Communications Manager.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Media Relations:

  • Act as a key liaison between media and the FIA F1 Sporting and Technical Team
  • Manage and track media requests, both on-site and remotely
  • Coordinate media availabilities throughout F1 events
  • Identify and pitch story ideas to media and facilitate their coverage of FIA activities
  • Assist race promoters in the production of media guides
  • Monitor relevant FIA news, trends and changes in the media landscape
  • Support the FIA Single Seater department with regulatory and sporting communications regarding F1 and junior formulae

Communications:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and media representatives
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage across all platforms (print, online, broadcast, newswires, social media)
  • Research, draft and distribute press releases, briefings and official statements to targeted media
  • Organise and oversee media opportunities for FIA representatives
  • Ensure timely updates and management of key content on FIA channels
  • Play a pivotal role in crisis communications when necessary
  • Produce post-event reports and feedback to local event organisers

Media Accreditation and Onsite operations:

  • Manage media accreditations for the FIA Formula One World Championship
  • Support national press officers in accrediting local media
  • Oversee Media Centre operations and ensure smooth execution of media activities during Grand Prix weekends
  • Assist in managing official F1 press conferences and media pen activities

Digital:

  • Collaborate with the digital team to develop engaging content and storytelling for FIA platforms
  • Leverage IT and social media analytics to adapt content strategies to evolving trends

PROFILE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in motorsport is requested
  • Proven experience in an international, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment
  • A university degree in communication or a related field is a strong asset
  • Near-native English proficiency (spoken and written); additional European languages are a strong advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with media, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Resilience, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to navigate fast-moving situations
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Willingness to travel: Minimum 12 events per year, each event requiring 6 days of travel
