Job summary

Red Bull Powertrains is seeking an engineer to join the powertrain testing team in a 12-month FTC role in Milton Keynes. You will install units on advanced test beds, log instrumentation data, and interpret results to drive reliability and performance improvements.

Ideal candidates hold an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering, with hands-on experience in automated test equipment and powertrain test beds within a motorsport environment.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3+ in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of operating modern automated test equipment.
• High understanding of motor vehicle technology and F1 Powertrain architecture.
• Familiarity with Power Units, basic electronics and hydraulics, ideally in motorsport.
• Experience using test cell instrumentation and external measurement devices.
• Strong practical skills with good manual dexterity.
• Previous experience with engine/powertrain test beds in top-class racing environment.

Responsibilities

• Install Unit Under Test on advanced test beds.
• Instrument and data log the UUTs.
• Ensure test programs are completed with accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify faults within the dyno area and pro-actively work on the resolution.
• First line analysis and interpretation of test results, including fault identification.
• Identify inefficiencies in current process and deliver improvements.
• Operate facility and test equipment per work instructions and procedures.
• Maintain test dyno run logs to monitor test bed efficiency.
