A vacancy has arisen for a Personnel Assistant within the Council to focus on absence management. The Council has a holistic approach to absence management as outlined in our Maximising Attendance Policy, which provides support for employees and managers to ensure effective attendance.

You will be part of a new team focusing on maximising attendance, providing professional guidance to managers and contributing to overall improvements in this area.

The Personnel Assistant will support the operational delivery of our service by providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on personnel policies, procedures, and systems. A good understanding of maximising attendance is desirable.

The post holder will work closely with the Personnel Adviser and Personnel Officer to achieve attendance targets.

The successful applicant should demonstrate effective planning and organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide professional advice confidently. They should also be able to prioritise their workload, support colleagues and managers, and possess customer care skills along with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
