As a Food and Beverage Waiter/Waitress at the Marriott Hotel in Manchester, you will play a vital role in delivering a memorable dining experience for our guests. Your main duties will include providing top-notch customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean, inviting atmosphere in line with the hotel’s high standards.

We are a 24/7 business, therefore, flexibility to work a wide range of days and shifts is an important factor.

- Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Present menus, offer suggestions, and provide detailed information on menu items, specials, and wine pairings.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them efficiently to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Process orders through the hotel’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle payments, including cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure that tables, dining areas, and workstations are clean, organised, and well-presented at all times.
- Assist in setting up and clearing down dining areas before and after service.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Support colleagues by assisting with additional tasks during busy periods.
- Upsell food and beverage items where appropriate, enhancing guest satisfaction and sales.
- Promote special offers, events, and loyalty programmes to guests.
- Collect and communicate guest feedback to management to help improve service quality.
- Address guest complaints or issues promptly, escalating to management if necessary.
Competencies
- Good level of English required
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail service.
- Professional appearance, proactive and reliable and positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out physical tasks as needed.
- A team player with a customer-focused approach.
