Job description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Front of House supervisor at The Bell in Charlbury. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for leading service standards and supporting wider business objectives. You will report to the General Manager and work alongside the Operational teams. You will lead a small team; previous leadership experience is advantageous. You should be a natural leader and role model, sharing your experience and knowledge from your career in F&B. You will be an ambassador for The Bamford Collection, which includes Daylesford Organic, Daylesford Stays, and Bamford.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Providing exceptional hospitality to guests and residents.
  2. Preparing the restaurant, pub, and garden for service, checking tables, replenishing stock, and maintaining standards.
  3. Driving sales by recommending menu items and upselling.
  4. Having full knowledge of the menu and beverages, including allergens, to assist guests.
  5. Managing shifts effectively, leading and motivating the front of house team for seamless service.
  6. Maximising sales through efficient table management.
  7. Collaborating with kitchen and bar teams on food and beverage development.
  8. Planning staffing needs, preparing schedules, and managing holiday cover.
  9. Handling transactions accurately, including cash and banking reconciliation.
  10. Addressing health & safety matters promptly.
  11. Delivering the 'REAL The Horseshoes experience'.
  12. Promoting social and environmental responsibility as part of our B Corp journey.
Skills and Experience:
  • Leadership in service standards and supporting business goals.
  • Reporting to the General Manager and working with operational teams.
  • Managing a small team; leadership experience is advantageous.
  • Being a natural leader and role model.
  • Sharing knowledge and experience from F&B careers.
