About York Barbican

York Barbican is the largest entertainment venue in the area, attracting major touring concerts, comedy, sporting shows, and corporate events. About the Role

We are looking for a permanent Food & Beverage Assistant to be an integral member of our F&B Operations Team. This role is crucial for ensuring our readiness for all events, including processing deliveries, rotating, ordering, and replenishing stock around retail and hospitality areas, and supporting the wider team with health and safety/food safety procedures.

We seek an ambitious and driven individual eager to grow their career with an exciting business on a full-time basis.

In addition to operational duties, you will be the first point of contact for our casual F&B workforce and support with building their rotas.

Additional Information:

  • Work weekends, evenings, and public holidays due to the role's nature.
  • The role involves physical work, including lifting and moving heavy items—manual handling training is desirable but can be provided.
  • Support for other ASM venues may be required, planned in advance.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assist Retail and Hospitality with daily operations and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Ensure high standards of service during show nights.
  • Prepare stock orders for retail and hospitality areas.
  • Adhere to all food safety legislation.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Strong hospitality operations experience—essential.
  • Experience in a similar role and business—essential.
  • Previous administration experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment—desirable.
  • Experience in an events-based environment—desirable.
  • Knowledge of local and regional entertainment venues.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective time management skills.
