A community-focused organization is seeking an Employment Coach for their Green Careers Pathway Project. This ambitious project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund aims to support young people into Green careers. This role will directly support clients on their employment journey to overcome barriers, build confidence, and gain essential skills for careers focused on sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental restoration.

Notes
This role will be hosted by EYST but is part of a wider project led by Pobl
Travel across Swansea region will be required for this role.
An Enhanced DBS will be required for this role.
Evidence of permission to work will be required.

Project Overview
EYST is excited to Join Pobl on their Green Careers Pathway Project. The Employment coach will be part of the Green Careers Pathway team but will be based in EYST.
The Employability Work Coach will play a pivotal role in supporting young people (aged 16-30) in Swansea to overcome barriers, build confidence, and gain essential skills for careers focused on sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental restoration.
This position emphasizes developing employability and green skills that align with the growing green economy and contribute to reducing carbon emissions, restoring nature, and promoting climate adaptation.
This role requires a proactive, inclusive approach to empower young people, enhance their employability, and enable them to contribute to a more sustainable future.

7. To support and attend in regular network meeting for partners to attend and share updates and learning and highlight issues
8. To present regular progress reports to funders, the EYST Co-directors and EYST Board as required
9. To ensure that the project promotes and reflects equality of opportunity at all levels.
10. To ensure that EYST Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equal Opportunities and all other relevant policies are implemented.
11. To maintain all administrative and financial records related to the project, in accordance with EYST administrative and financial systems.
12.To work with the EYST Co-directors and Board to set and maintain a culture of high professional standards and to deliver best value services.
13.To carry out any other duties that may from time to time be required.
Person Specification (all elements essential)
1.
At least one years’ experience of working with ethnic minority communities, preferably in Wales.
2.
Understanding of Asset-Based Approaches: Demonstrated understanding and practical experience in asset-based community development, focusing on enhancing individual and community strengths.
3.
Community Engagement Skills: Ability to work in a nurturing local environment with young people, fostering supportive relationships that empower them.
4.
Collaboration Skills: Strong capability to collaborate effectively across partnerships, managing professional relationships with delivery partners, contractors, training providers, and employers.
5.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field. Certifications in career coaching or green job training are a plus.
6.
Specific knowledge and experience of the issues faced by diverse ethnic minority communities in Wales with reference to employability.
7.
Good Knowledge of Green carers and sustainability
8.
Willingness to work towards National Occupational Standards (NOS) & qualifications.
9.
Ability to empathise, support and empower clients.
10.
Able to work independently and with considerable discretion but to seek advice as required
11.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
12.
Experience of monitoring projects and recording client support using Client CRM systems
13.
In depth understanding and commitment to equal opportunities, along with a commitment to contribute to the development of policy and practices in this area

Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines and under pressure in a high intensity environment.

Ability to travel across Swansea region
