Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Twickenham. This full-time role starts in November and focuses on supporting Nursery and Reception learners with their early literacy, numeracy and social development.

You will assist with planning, resource management and sustained classroom delivery, while helping children flourish in a nurturing environment. The role offers ongoing CPD and local opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young children in school, nursery or early years settings is desirable.
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic with a commitment to inclusion and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with children, teachers, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to follow guidance, take initiative and contribute to planning and lesson preparation.
• Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support children individually or in small groups to access the EYFS curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement through play-based learning.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development, including routines such as snack time, toileting and getting changed.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment, including outdoor provision, and in managing behaviour effectively.
• Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons and activities.
• Observe children's progress and share observations and concerns with the class teacher.
• Support early reading, phonics and number work as directed.
• Accompany children on educational visits and contribute to enrichment activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, colleagues, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for children.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management and child protection.
