Job summary

New Directions Holdings Limited is seeking enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Nursery and Reception across Leeds. This full-time role focuses on helping children learn through engaging activities and play-based learning.

You'll work with the class teacher to support individual pupils and small groups, promoting a safe, inclusive environment and supporting social and academic development with safeguarding practices at the core.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in EYFS/Nursery/Reception or school setting.
• Nurturing and patient approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication with staff and parents.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support children in Nursery and Reception classes with their learning and development.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative activities.
• Encourage children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Support pupils through play-based learning and structured activities.
• Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in an EYFS, Nursery, Reception, childcare, or school setting.
• A nurturing and patient approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Relevant childcare or education qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
