EYFS Teaching Assistant

Do you want hands-on EYFS experience before applying for teacher training? Could you deliver focused 1:1 and small-group support that helps children settle, learn, and thrive?

Responsibilities
  • You will support high-quality early years provision alongside the class teacher.
  • Set up continuous provision, lead short, purposeful activities in early phonics and number.
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils who need extra help.
  • Model routines, encourage language and social skills, and keep brief observation notes to inform next steps.
Candidate

You're a graduate with clear communication, a warm, consistent approach, and genuine interest in early child development. You follow guidance, use initiative, and build positive relationships with young children and staff.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - Strong interest in EYFS and pupil wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children - Any relevant experience (nursery, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
