EYFS Teacher – QTS Required – Barnet – Permanent – September 2025

Salary: £36,413-£47,568 (MPS Outer London) | September 2025 Start | Permanent

NURTURING EYFS SPECIALIST REQUIRED

Working exclusively with a delightful infant school in the heart of Barnet, I am seeking an experienced and passionate EYFS Teacher to join their dedicated early years team.

Having partnered with this school for over five years, I can confirm their exceptional commitment to early childhood development through play-based learning. Their outdoor provision is particularly impressive, offering children rich opportunities for exploration and discovery.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • QTS with specific EYFS training/experience
  • Understanding of child development in the early years
  • Ability to create stimulating learning environments
  • Experience with EYFS assessment framework
  • Strong parental engagement skills
  • This position would suit either an established EYFS practitioner or an NQT with strong placement experience in Reception or Nursery. The school provides excellent mentoring and a collaborative planning approach.

  • Evidence of continuous professional development in Early Years education

  • Early Years specialism in initial teacher training
  • Additional Early Years qualifications (e.g., EYPS)
  • Forest School training
  • EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL)

  • Successful teaching experience in EYFS (either through placements or employment)
  • Experience implementing the EYFS framework
  • Experience of planning and delivering child-initiated learning
  • Experience working with parents/carers to support children's development
  • EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE)

  • Experience teaching in Reception class specifically
  • Experience of transition from Nursery to Reception
  • Experience using online learning journals (e.g., Tapestry)
  • Experience working with external agencies
  • SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE (ESSENTIAL)

  • Thorough understanding of child development (0-5 years)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures relevant to Early Years
  • Ability to plan engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Excellent observation and assessment skills
  • Strong behaviour management abilities using positive approaches
  • Understanding of phonics teaching in Early Years
