Job summary

Simply Education Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS teacher for an outstanding primary school in Chelmsford. You will create a safe, nurturing environment and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences across the EYFS seven areas of learning.

You will work within a supportive leadership team, contribute to professional development and CPD, and help pupils develop confidence, communication and early literacy and numeracy skills.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience in EYFS or the primary phase.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupils' welfare.

About the Role

As an EYFS teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing children with the very best start to their education. You will create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can develop their confidence, independence and love of learning.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative and age-appropriate learning experiences.
  • Following the EYFS Statutory Framework and ensuring learning opportunities cover all seven areas of learning.
  • Supporting children's communication, language, literacy and early mathematical development.
  • Promoting personal, social and emotional development.
  • Providing a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities.
  • Creating a stimulating, inclusive and language-rich learning environment.
  • Observing, assessing and documenting children's learning and development.
  • Using observations and assessment information to identify children's next steps.
  • Differentiating activities to meet individual needs, interests and abilities.
  • Supporting children with additional needs and working with relevant professionals where appropriate.
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Establishing clear routines and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with children, parents and carers.
  • Communicating regularly with parents and carers about children's progress and wellbeing.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider EYFS team.
  • Maintaining accurate assessment and safeguarding records.
  • Contributing to staff meetings, parents' evenings, school events and wider school activities.
  • Ensuring the classroom and outdoor learning environments are safe, engaging and well organised.
  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of every child.
  • Participating fully in CPD, professional development and education and training opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic EYFS teacher with a genuine passion for early childhood education and development.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working within EYFS or the primary phase.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • An understanding of child development and early learning.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A nurturing, patient and inclusive approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to create engaging, purposeful and age-appropriate learning experiences.
  • High expectations for children's learning, development and behaviour.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
  • A willingness to engage fully with ongoing education and training and professional development.
