Job description

Are you a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are working with a welcoming primary school in Wolverhampton who are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with autism, starting in September 2025.

The Role:
  • Providing consistent 1:1 support to a child with autism in an Early Years setting

  • Supporting the child's learning, communication, and social development

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals

  • Implementing tailored strategies and interventions to meet individual needs

  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience supporting children with autism or SEN in a school or nursery setting

  • A patient, calm, and empathetic approach

  • Good understanding of early childhood development and SEN strategies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE or equivalent) is desirable
