Job description

EYFS Teaching Assistant

- Full-time role

- April start

- Competitive rate of £13.75 - £14.50 an hour

- Experienced in a Primary School setting required

- BB1 (Blackburn)

- Must have a childcare qualification

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a ‘Good’ Primary School in the BB4 area to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant. The role is to commence immediately and will initially run for a half-term with the view for this to be extended further for the right candidate.

In this role, you would be required to:

  • Assist the class teacher with the delivery of lessons
  • Work across both classes (approx. 28 pupils) to encourage a positive attitude to learning
  • Assist in the management of behaviour
  • Work with children on a 1:1 basis to provide extra support where needed, specifically targeting phonics, maths, reading, and writing abilities.

High standards of behaviour are of paramount importance across the school; therefore, the successful candidate must be confident in following the school’s behavioural policy. Experience within a Primary School setting is essential, with experience preferable. The individual appointed must have an in-depth knowledge of the Early Years Curriculum and be passionate about education.
