Job summary

CS UK Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading West Midlands preparatory school in Birmingham to appoint a Nursery Operations Manager. You will lead the EYFS team, drive high-quality early years education and safeguard welfare across the nursery for children aged 0 to 5.

You will hold Level 5 EY Leadership/Management or be willing to work towards it, plus SEND/SENCO qualifications and Paediatric First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Significant EYFS experience and knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Level 5 Leadership/Management in Early Years or equivalent, plus SEND/SENCO qualifications.
• Paediatric First Aid training and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of EYFS curriculum with long-term planning and continuous improvement.
• Ensure welfare, safeguarding and wellbeing of children are priority; maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitor progress, assessments and records across EYFS journey.
• Develop strong relationships with parents and families to support each child.
• Lead and motivate EYFS team; set clear expectations and development goals.
• Provide staff training, mentoring and professional development; support innovative practice.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements and regulatory standards.
• Organise staff and resources to meet statutory ratios and smooth operation.
• Represent the school positively with SLT and colleagues to promote ethos.
• Embed the West House Way within EYFS and contribute to school life.
