Job summary

Job description
Overview

As an EYFS Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will aid students at the very beginning of their educational journey, cultivating strategies to meet each child’s unique needs under the direction of teachers and leaders. The role is based mainly in our outdoor nursery, which has grown and developed in recent years.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the educational, personal and social development of children.
  • Set up and manage groups of pupils during focused learning activities.
  • Support children on a 1:1 basis when required, including SEN pupils.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with parents, carers and the wider community to secure high quality relationships.
  • Contribute to the Church of England ethos of the school.
  • Support outdoor learning using the natural environment to provide exciting experiences.
  • Relate to and support children with varying learning needs, adjusting tasks accordingly.
  • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to each new day and support the vision to engage pupils in their learning.
Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ level 3 in Early Years Care & Education or an equivalent qualification recognised by CACHE.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and how pupils learn.
  • Experience setting up and managing groups of pupils during focused activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with Early Years children, including those with SEN, and to communicate within a team.
Contract and Hours

The role is term-time, from 8.30am to 3.30pm, two days per week (to be discussed), totaling 12.5 hours per week. This is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2026, subject to ongoing funding.
