Job description

Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and making a positive impact on children's lives? If so, Underwood West Academy has an exciting opportunity for you!

We are looking for an individual who can promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development of every child within our nursery. You will be working in our Early Years area, which provides our children with a new outdoor learning environment, a refurbished indoor learning space, and a supportive, experienced EYFS Teaching team.

The successful candidate will work with colleagues in the nursery to create a stimulating, safe, and caring teaching and learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children placed in the setting.
  • To work as part of a team, providing an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop, and learn.
  • To build and maintain strong partnerships by working with parents to ensure their child/children's needs are met.

Working under the guidance of the teacher, the successful postholder will also be responsible for key responsibilities as described in the Job Description provided.

What we are looking for:

  • An excellent practitioner keen to work in a supportive and principle-based nursery.
  • Committed to teamwork, recognizing that more can be achieved together than as an individual.
  • Highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, holding the strong expectation that all staff share this commitment.
  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual qualified (or soon to be qualified) to a minimum of Level 3 NVQ in Early Years Care and Education or a similar field.

You will become part of our inclusive school where we promote positive attitudes, good behavior, and moral understanding. All children are nurtured to establish a sense of pride and achievement in learning and being part of our school community, while becoming happy, confident, and resilient learners, each supported to reach their unique potential in a safe environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a successful, progressive, and happy school.

In return, we offer:

  • A school community with a warm, positive, caring ethos.
  • Continued professional development within an experienced EYFS team.
  • Experience of working in a thriving, successful primary school.
  • A well-resourced school and grounds.
  • Benefits from Blue Light Card offers.

We are a member of The Aspire Multi Academy Trust, offering a mutually supportive ethos with excellent opportunities for professional development.

As a Trust, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children. For all shortlisted candidates, reference checks and online searches will be completed prior to interview. All successful candidates are subject to satisfactory references, medical checks, right to work in the UK, and safeguarding checks (including an enhanced DBS and a declaration of disqualification under Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009).

If you are committed to helping children thrive and giving them the best start in life, we look forward to hearing from you.
