Derbyshire County Council’s Brockley Primary School invites an exceptional EYFS Leader and Class Teacher for a mixed Reception and Year 1 class, starting January 2027 to cover a maternity leave.

You will develop high-quality Early Years provision in a nurturing, ambitious environment, focusing on language-rich learning and strong relationships with children and families. This role offers professional growth within a supportive staff team.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading and developing Early Years provision.
• Strong understanding of child development and early learning.
• Ability to teach across the Reception/Year 1 age range.
• Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Early Years provision at Brockley Primary School.
• Teach a mixed Reception and Year 1 class from January 2027.
• Create a language-focused, rich and stimulating learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Ensure high expectations and inclusive practice for all learners.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and our dedicated team.
