Job description

Job Description:

We currently have 2 x 30-hour Teaching Assistant positions with SEND support available to support children within the classroom, particularly with SEMH/Social and Communication needs. These positions are most likely in Year 2 classes starting September. You will work as part of 'a team around the child' within the classroom.

These roles are suited to candidates with previous classroom and SEND experience, but all applications will be considered.

Start: ASAP in September 2024

These are temporary positions until 31st December 2024 initially.

Work hours: 8.30 am - 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch).

Term time only plus 5 INSET days (39 weeks).

Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Kind, caring, empathetic, and understanding of a nurturing environment.
  • Understanding that all behavior is communication, even if challenging.
  • Skills to support young children with additional needs, especially social and communication difficulties.
  • A positive attitude, seeing each day as a new opportunity.
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Ability to motivate and engage children, fostering a love for school.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with children and adults.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive outlook and enthusiasm for being part of a hardworking team.

Additional Information:
