Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an Eye Services Technical Officer, part of the Eye Bank Team at our Liverpool Centre. The role supports the processing of donated corneas into clinical grafts and Serum Eyedrops, under GMP, contributing to saving lives.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10:00–18:00, with ongoing induction and development to support your career goals in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using basic keyboard skills in a work environment.
• Interest in science demonstrated through qualification, training or work experience.
• Understanding of GMP and Health and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Eye Bank work under supervision, performing routine tasks.
• Rostered across Eye services activities, including dispensing Serum Eye Drops.
• Update production records written or electronic.
• Send microbiology samples.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory stocks to reduce wastage.
• Clean laboratory, equipment and storage areas to ensure a safe processing environment.
• Filing and archiving production records.
