EY Foundation - Communications Manager - Permanent

Introduction to EY Foundation
The EY Foundation is a charity established in 2014 to help young people from low-income backgrounds develop workplace skills. Founded by EY, a professional services firm, we aim to ensure all young people eligible for Free School Meals have equitable employment and earnings potential. We collaborate with various organizations to deliver employability programs, digital interventions, and systemic change advocacy.

Our team operates across London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham with a hybrid working model. We raise funds through corporate partners, fundraising, and grants. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, requiring an Enhanced DBS check where appropriate.

Your management role
Work strategically, lead your team, make decisions, plan resources, and support wider organizational goals autonomously.

Your role as Communications Manager
A pivotal role to shape the charity’s nationwide impact. Reporting to the Director of Communication and Influence, you will manage a team of two specialists, oversee communication activities, and adapt strategies based on evaluation and technological developments.

The role involves developing communication plans, managing channels, creating content, supporting system change initiatives, and internal communications. You will also handle budgets, stakeholder relationships, and event delivery.

Your skills, knowledge & experience

Required skills:

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in employee communication campaigns with measurable impact.
  • Project management and mentoring skills.

Knowledge:

  • Effective digital and traditional communication strategies.
  • Understanding of corporate foundations' unique challenges.
  • Problem-solving and proactive guidance skills.

Experience:

  • Strategic communication planning and campaign delivery.
  • Data-driven evaluation of communication impact.
  • Building engaged social media audiences and managing content production.
  • Stakeholder strategy, relationship management, and leadership experience.
  • Experience in a corporate environment and working with diverse stakeholders, including young people and government.
  • Proficiency in video and graphic production tools like Canva.
  • Experience in paid promotion campaigns and event delivery.
