Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is seeking an Extrusion Operator/Team Leader for a permanent role in Knowsley. The position starts on 6:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Thursday, with an eventual move to permanent nights (6:00pm–6:00am). Salary depends on experience.

You will lead a shift, ensure quality, and contribute to Lean manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate has rubber extrusion experience, supervision exposure, and a solid grasp of compound materials and measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Experience operating rubber extrusion machinery.
• Team Leader or Supervisory experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of rubber compounds and extrusion processes.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and profile gauges.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach with commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating rubber extrusion machinery.
• Preparing raw materials and ensuring the correct compounds are used.
• Monitoring machine performance and adjusting to maintain product quality.
• Carrying out product changeovers efficiently.
• Completing quality inspections using measuring equipment.
• Troubleshooting production issues and minimising downtime with engineering.
• Supporting and motivating colleagues throughout the shift.
• Assisting with work allocation to meet production schedules.
• Completing production documentation accurately.
• Promoting housekeeping and health & safety standards.
• Supporting continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
