Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Extrusion Operator for our Bromborough site to support the manufacturing of blown extrusion film, ensuring customer standards and a safe working environment. The training period is normally 2–3 weeks (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) before moving to shift work (4 on 4 off, 2 days/2 nights) under the Shift Manager.

Experience in extrusion equipment and manufacturing is desirable; full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in the operation of extrusion equipment (desirable)
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desirable) Full training will be provided.
• Good team working and communication
• Positive and pro‑active attitude
• Be able to work unsupervised and using own initiative
• Ability to handle multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are met

Responsibilities

• Work safely in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work
• Report all hazards and act on them accordingly
• Housekeeping on all extrusion lines
• Monitor product quality and ensure all quality checks and testing are carried out in line with specifications
• Monitor and manage line output rates, utilisation and scrap levels against plan/targets on each line
• Operate extrusion machinery and monitor and manage recycling equipment on each unit
• Ensure accurate data is recorded and inputted correctly
• Ensure a good handover of information to the incoming operator
