Job summary

Poole, Dorset-based employer is seeking a Machine Operator for a permanent role operating extrusion equipment within a busy manufacturing team. Training is provided and the role offers a rotating day/night pattern after initial training, with a 42-hour average week.

Initial hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:00 during training, followed by a rotating schedule. Benefits include an annual bonus, death in service, health plan and cycle-to-work scheme.

Qualifications

• Technically minded and interested in manufacturing machinery.
• Able to follow production procedures accurately and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Solid understanding of workplace health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Start up and monitor extrusion machinery.
• Work to production targets and quality standards.
• Check, measure and record product specifications.
• Take product samples according to procedures.
• Assist with dismantling and cleaning production equipment.
• Process and grind production scrap.
• Move finished materials to storage locations.
• Assist with stocktaking.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards.
