Job summary

The Best Connection in Littlehampton is seeking a hands-on Machine Operative to join the production team. You will operate specialist extrusion and hot box machinery to manufacture high-quality products, ensuring efficiency, safety and adherence to quality standards.

This role is multi-skilled, physically active, and requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to maintaining production standards. Full training provided; temp-to-perm opportunity on a rotating shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production or machine operating is beneficial.
• Experience operating extrusion machinery is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop within the business.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate silicone extrusion machinery in line with production requirements.
• Set up and monitor hot box equipment throughout the process.
• Conduct regular quality inspections on finished products.
• Identify and report faults, defects or production issues.
• Ensure products meet strict customer and company quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production records where required.
• Assist with machine changeovers and basic adjustments.
• Handle raw materials and finished products safely.
• Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with H&S procedures.
• Collaborate with production team to achieve daily targets.
