SUMMARY

Setup and operate all plant equipment and monitor operations for productivity, safety, maintenance requirements, and product quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Proficiently set up and operate extruders, including sheet line, paint department, blending, secondary finishing, and packaging operations.
  2. Monitor operations for productivity, safety, maintenance needs, and product quality.
  3. Participate in test runs and tuning of new dies, materials, and profiles.
  4. Identify problems, make responsible assessments, and take safe, decisive actions.
  5. Maintain records of setups and procedures.
  6. Possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  7. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  8. Work effectively without constant supervision.
  9. Keep work area clean and organized.
  10. Maintain quality standards.
  11. Follow safety rules and company policies.
  12. Build constructive working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  13. Maintain regular attendance according to company policy.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Knowledge

High school diploma or GED, or 1-4 years of related experience/training, or equivalent.

Experience

At least five years of experience in setting up and operating plant equipment proficiently.

Skills

Ability to read and understand instructions, perform basic math, and communicate effectively in writing and orally.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent standing, walking, manual handling, and reaching. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Vision abilities include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to airborne particles. Noise level is usually loud. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
