Job description

Social Care in Action is currently supporting people in our Extra Care sites to ensure they stay safe and well. We currently have opportunities for a Support Worker to work full-time at our Extra Care Scheme in Lymington, Barfields Court. Part-time hours may be considered.

Shift Schedule:
  • Mornings: 07:00–14:00
  • Evenings: 16:00–21:15
  • Long day shifts are also available, including a one-hour break.
  • Waking Nights: 21:00–07:00

Work is scheduled on a rota basis, with availability required every other weekend.

About the role

Our Extra Care Schemes support individuals to remain in their own homes with person-centred care, enabling independence while respecting their choices and human rights. We work closely with agencies including CQC, adult services, local GP practices, and the community.

Joining our team means making a positive impact on the lives of those we support. Our schemes feature self-contained homes, and we support tenants to enable self-care and independent living.

Your role as a Support Worker involves:

  • Promoting independence and assisting with daily routines.
  • Identifying opportunities for social inclusion and community participation.
  • Providing personal care with respect and sensitivity.
  • Participating in household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and laundry, encouraging tenants to join in.
  • Engaging in conversations and building rapport.
