An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to oversee our two Carlisle Extra Care services, Heysham Gardens and Burnside Court. Both services are well established and highly regarded, with vibrant care teams providing compassionate support to older adults.
The services ensure support cover during the day and operate waking night support as needed. They are registered with the CQC for Personal Care and maintain robust systems to deliver a consistent, quality service. The successful candidate will act as the registered manager with the CQC, meeting the expectations of local authority commissioners and maintaining a 'Good' rating with the CQC.
You will need to lead the staff team to uphold high standards of customer care and person-centred service delivery, promoting independence, choice, and wellbeing. The role involves operational management and direct supervision of a Deputy Manager and Support Workers.
You will work effectively with families, other agencies, and Housing Scheme Managers, requiring skills in contract and relationship management. You will conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with care standards. This is a busy service, so strong organisational skills, accountability, and a hardworking attitude are essential.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with other agencies to meet the holistic needs of older adults. Applicants should have relevant skills, knowledge, and at least three years of management experience in the care of older people, such as in extra care, home care, or residential settings. Experience in staff supervision and management is required. A warm, caring, and person-centred approach, along with a commitment to re-ablement principles, dignity, and independence, are essential.
