Trustee Role at Kent Students’ Union

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our Board of Trustees. The role involves ensuring effective governance, supporting strategic management, and aligning with our charitable purpose, vision, and values. You will provide strategic leadership to guide the organisation, ensuring the successful delivery of our goals through our 2025-2028 Strategy.

We are looking for a creative or strategic thinker with a future-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, committed to advising, supporting, and empowering our team of elected student leaders and Senior Leadership Team. Candidates from arts, sports, social impact, business, charity, commercial sectors, or democratic organisations are encouraged to apply. Experience in sabbatical officer roles or knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is especially valued.

Regardless of your background, you will be able to leverage your experience, skills, and networks to support our vision.

External Trustee Responsibilities:

1. Use your knowledge, skills, and experience to enhance the decision-making of the Board and its Committees.
2. Support, advise, and empower student and officer trustees.
3. Mentor new or less experienced trustees as needed.
