Job Description

Are you passionate about creative writing? Do you excel at storytelling and engaging diverse audiences? The University of Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced External Communications Manager to join our award-winning Digital Content and Communications Team.

You will have a keen eye for newsworthy stories, experience working with media, and the ability to craft compelling content for various channels. The role requires a self-starter who can work independently, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to a dynamic team.

Key skills include familiarity with website content management systems, media monitoring tools, and experience creating multimedia content such as videos and podcasts. A relevant degree and a diverse portfolio of professional writing are essential.

The team manages internal and external communications, PR, and social media channels. The role is full-time (37 hours/week), involving flexible working from home and across campuses in Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Telford. Some weekend and out-of-hours work may be required. We offer 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and an excellent pension scheme.
