Job description

We are looking for an experienced Emergency Practitioner who is a physiotherapist, capable of independently assessing, investigating, diagnosing, and treating patients in our Minor Injury Unit.

The role involves working in our Minor Injury Unit within the Emergency Department across 7 days a week. Shift patterns range between 10 and 12 hours, from 08:00 to 23:00.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide clear and effective leadership.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, and delivery of direct patient care within the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Unit, and Minor Injuries Unit.
  • Be fully accountable for shift management.
  • Independently assess, investigate, diagnose, and treat patients in specific client groups.
  • Manage the see-and-treat environment safely, ensuring practice standards are maintained at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Ward Manager and Clinical Matron to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care, and foster a flexible workforce through optimal use of resources.
  • Promote and uphold high standards of practice within the team, aligned with departmental requirements.
  • Provide clinical expertise during shifts and in departmental representation.
  • Manage resources effectively within budget constraints.
  • Participate actively in audit processes.
