About The Role
This is a 2-Year fixed- term contract. UCL is expanding its Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) Programme, which offers hands-on, skills-focused activities like industry challenges and community hackathons. These experiences aim to enhance collaboration, innovation, and real-world problem-solving for students, especially in Term 3. The programme is currently in a pilot phase and is set to become an annual initiative from 2025–26. UCL is now seeking a strategic and experienced ELO Manager to lead this transition—developing and scaling the programme, identifying new opportunities, and building strong internal and external partnerships. The role involves close collaboration with the Students’ Union, various UCL teams, and faculties. About You
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification along with substantial experience in leading major projects or programmes, ideally within a higher education setting. They will have a strong background in designing or delivering student-facing learning activities for a diverse student population and possess a deep understanding of the higher education sector. Their experience will include managing complex, cross-disciplinary projects involving collaboration with multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes that enhance education and the student experience. The role requires strategic thinking and the ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage priorities effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling the candidate to influence and collaborate with colleagues across various functions. They must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communication abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly to both students and staff. Additionally, the candidate should be highly organised, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and producing well-structured reports and plans.
