Job description

This is an expression of interest for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded, award-winning Civil & Structural team within our Hydrock Bristol office.

As well as being part of our national Civil and Structural team (250 employees and growing), you will have the opportunity to work alongside other successful divisions such as MEP, Nuclear, and Smart Energy and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery of scheme and concept designs.
• Delivery of detailed design including full tender and construction packages.
• Preparation of calculation packages for submission to Building Control.
• Attendance at client, design, and site meetings.
• Management and development of engineers and technicians.
• Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors.
• Preparation of fee proposals, input into project bids, ITTs, etc.

About You:

You will hold a relevant degree qualification in Civil or Structural engineering and will ideally be working towards Chartership with the IStructE or ICE.

You will have a good track record in structural engineering design and have experience in the delegation, management, and mentoring of junior engineers. You will also have the necessary skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, including our most valued clients. Good attention to detail and strong presentation skills are also required.

You will have experience using analysis and design software packages and the ability to design through hand calculations. You will have an understanding of BIM requirements up to and including Level 2.
