About the Role

As aFirst Officer, you will:

  • Serve as second-in-command to the Captain and provide critical support in flight operations.
  • Support training activities, including assisting Flight Instructors during simulator sessions.
  • Execute duties outlined in our Operations Manuals and assist the Captain with flight management and decision-making.
  • Apply best practices in Non-Technical Skills (NTS) to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Take full command of the aircraft in the rare event of Captain incapacitation.
  • Be available for shift work, contactable outside office hours, and prepared to travel domestically and internationally as required.

About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A current ATPL issued by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority or the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia, with the ability to obtain a New Zealand ATPL.
  • A Type Rating on the B737 NG, with recent experience (within the last 5 years) including:
  • 3,000 hours Total Time
  • 2,000 hours on Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA)
  • 1,000 hours on aircraft over 50 tonnes MTOW
  • To reside or be willing to relocate to Auckland or Christchurch.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • A high level of drive, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
  • A balance of technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
