We are looking to recruit aLogistics Assistant on a permanent basis to join our Supply Chain team based at our National Distribution Centre in Walsall.
The Role

Reporting to the Contract Sales Team Leader, your role will be to assist in the effective and efficient running of intercompany and export accounts to satisfy customer and customs requirements, and to ensure continued sales growth. We require skills and passion for delivering outstanding results.
Key Tasks
  • Ensure daily routines are in place and maintained to ensure smooth delivery of customer orders.
  • Maintain a OneTR approach with our intercompany teams, building a good business relationship.
  • Work with the Export despatch team to ensure correct and accurate documents produced to allow smooth processing through customs.
  • Prompt response to customer enquiries.
  • Answering sales calls in a timely manner.
  • Accurate processing of sales orders.
  • Maintain levels of business within your designated accounts.
  • Work closely with line manager on attrition lists and finding new ways to build new/existing business.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings
  • Commit to, and work towards, any objectives and targets set by direct manager or Team Leader.
  • Escalate concerns in a timely manner to the appropriate person.
The Candidate
We are seeking a service-driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. While experience in sales, expediting, logistics, or supply chain management, as well as knowledge of fastenings and procurement, would be advantageous, they are not essential as full training will be provided. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and experience with Dynamic 365 (D365) would be beneficial, though training will also be given.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers is a key part of this role.
