A leading international organisation operating in a highly regulated, technical sector is seeking a Group Export Control Manager to join its Group Legal & Compliance function. This is a strategic and high-visibility role, responsible for ensuring compliance with UK and international export control regulations across multiple sites and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage compliance with UK multi-site export licences, including investigations, audits, and regulatory engagement.
  • Oversee and continuously improve internal export control policies, training, and assurance programmes.
  • Act as the central subject matter expert for UK, EU, and US export control regimes (including EAR, ITAR, and Part 810).
  • Provide timely and practical advice to internal stakeholders across legal, security, project, and operations teams.
  • Represent the organisation in audits and communications with UK export authorities.
  • Monitor changes to global export regulations and advise on business impact and implementation.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced export control professional who can operate confidently across complex regulatory landscapes and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of UK export control laws (including dual-use regulations).
  • Familiarity with international regimes, particularly EU Dual-Use Regulation, US EAR, ITAR, or Part 810.
  • Strong background in a regulated industry such as nuclear, defense, aerospace, or advanced engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage compliance frameworks, lead audits/investigations, and liaise with regulators.

Desirable:

  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional operations.
  • Background in legal, compliance, security, or engineering.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. ECoP, CECO).
