Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in offshore cable design, manufacture, and testing for at least one offshore wind cable project.
• Excellent understanding of international standards related to offshore export cable design and testing.
• Ability to interact with external stakeholders, including suppliers.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Work Package Manager.
• Providing technical expertise on export cable design, qualification, manufacture, quality management, testing, and commissioning activities, both onshore and offshore.
• Supporting cable design and coordinating loadout planning and schedules with T&I colleagues.
• Leading cable design and cable rating verification calculations.
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation, specifications, and procedures related to cable design, manufacture, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Reviewing study results and design and construction documents at various development stages to ensure compliance with Employer requirements and project expectations.
• Reviewing technical aspects of consenting documents.
• Proactively managing and coordinating technical interfaces, supporting clarification and interface meetings with Contractors and other work packages, especially with onshore landfall and offshore substation packages.
• Participating in work package meetings, work stream, project management meetings, expert, and supplier meetings.
• Planning and leading meetings, documenting results and actions.
• Supervising and guiding inhouse, agency staff, and third parties such as consultancies.
• Ensuring work tasks are delivered according to requirements including budget, timelines, quality, HSE, laws, regulations, and standards.
• Sharing knowledge proactively within the export cable team to foster learning and improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in offshore cable design, manufacture, and testing for at least one offshore wind cable project.
• Excellent understanding of international standards and norms related to offshore export cable design and testing.
• Proficient in English, both oral and written.
• Strong knowledge and commitment to HSE standards.
• Ability to interact professionally with external stakeholders, including suppliers.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of cable design, latest technical developments, supplier management, tendering processes, manufacturing, and QA processes.
• Good IT skills, familiar with software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and document management systems.
• Understanding of business ethics, negotiations, law, contracts, consenting, and the offshore industry.
