As an Export Agency Finance and Trade - Assistant General Counsel - Vice President in the legal department supporting the firm’s Trade & Working Capital business, you will provide legal support and advice to its export agency finance, structured working capital, supply chain finance, and core trade businesses across all EMEA jurisdictions, working with leading Export Credit Agencies and multilateral agencies to provide export finance solutions to corporations and governmental institutions worldwide.

Job responsibilities

  • Providing legal support and advice on export finance and trade & working capital products and services;
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with the Bank’s customers and export agencies;
  • Contributing to projects that improve operational processes for legal support;
  • Liaising with legal counter-parts and functional partners globally;
  • Instructing and working with outside counsel.

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Qualified lawyer from a common law jurisdiction or an EU member state with 5-15 years of legal experience;
  • Experience in lending and finance;
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Experience supporting export financings across industries such as aviation, infrastructure, shipping, etc.;
  • Experience in trade finance (letters of credit, demand guarantees) and receivables financing;
  • Experience working with stakeholders across geographies.
