MHTN Architects is seeking a talented Experiential Graphic Designer passionate about creating user experiences in built, physical spaces. This position focuses on designing signage, wayfinding, and branded installations for physical environments. You’ll conceptualize, design, and execute integrated graphic design services for architectural environments for mid to large scale building projects spanning sectors such as K-12, higher education, commercial, religious, medical, and municipal buildings. You'll create visually captivating production-ready artwork tailored for project visioning, placemaking, graphic identity, wayfinding, printed graphics, and signage design to seamlessly integrate with material finishes. Collaborating closely with interior designers, architects, project managers, community planners, and other experts, you'll provide input and contribute to the creative process. You will work on cross-functional teams to ensure design concepts align with project timelines and feasibility, with guidance from senior team members.
The Experiential Graphic Designer is responsible for the development and research of design concepts and storytelling elements for the physical built environment while adhering to client brand standards. The Experiential Graphic Designer plays a key role in the presentation of design concepts and ideas to clients and stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design decisions. You will be preparing and setting up files for fabrication, including pre-flighting, color correction, image manipulation, and optimization, with the objective of constructability. Other key tasks include conducting thorough quality checks on all deliverables to ensure they meet brand standards, specifications, and project requirements. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and delivering high-quality work within established timelines and budget constraints.
The Experiential Graphic Designer must communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address feedback, clarify requirements, and ensure project objectives are met including the coordination and review of the fabrication progress, shop drawings, and installation for quality control. They will stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and production to continuously improve skills and processes.
