Job summary

British Grooms Association is seeking an experienced yard groom to join a busy riding school in East Yorkshire. This part-time role includes mucking out, feeding, turning out, grooming, tacking up and horse care throughout the day.

The successful candidate will be reliable, punctual and capable of working efficiently within a team, with confident handling of horses and ponies. Accommodation and pets are allowed for the right applicant.

• Must be reliable, hardworking and experienced around horses.
• Confident handling of horses and ponies and able to work in a busy yard.

Responsibilities

• Mucking out and maintaining a high standard of yard cleanliness.
• Feeding, haying and watering.
• Turning out and bringing in.
• Grooming and preparing horses for lessons.
• Tacking up and untacking.
• General horse care and yard duties.
• Keeping an eye on the health and wellbeing of our horses and ponies.
• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the riding school.
