Job description

Find the next step in your career

A rare opportunity has arisen to take on an exciting role within a busy hospital clinic, primarily focusing on inpatient care and medicine work-ups two days a week. This role is ideal for colleagues looking to utilize their ultrasound or endoscopic skills while maintaining some consult time to build their caseload. Our caseload is diverse and high-level in-house.

Be part of something great!

The role is mainly based at our Zetland Road hospital, with some consulting shifts at our smaller Clifton branch nearby. We have a welcoming team across 8 Bristol sites, led by an experienced Clinical Director and Senior Vets, many with over a decade at the practice. You will receive support from colleagues with Certificates in Surgery and Small Animal Medicine, as well as certificates in-progress and expertise in areas like Behaviour, Herbal Medicine, and Acupuncture.

About the role
  1. Your working week will be over four days, including shared weekend shifts.
  2. No night duties or bank holiday work, as our Redland Hospital hosts the Vets Now Bristol Clinic.
  3. The shift involves two days focusing on inpatient care and medicine work-ups, with 2 hours of consults at the end of the day, and two days dedicated to consulting only.
  4. We prefer a full-time candidate, with 39.5 hours over 4 days, with a fixed day off on Mondays.
  5. Both full and part-time applicants are considered; candidates should have a certificate or practical ultrasound skills (especially abdominal) and be willing to complete a supporting certificate.
