FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Electrical Excitation Field Engineer to join our Field Operations team based in Europe. Let’s Talk about the Role

As an Electrical Excitation Technical Field Advisor, you will be responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System, managing costs, quality control, and safeguarding turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers, cranes, accessories, and spare parts.

  • Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring work complies with GE safety standards.
  • Plan pre-outage and installation activities, possibly recommending policies and procedures.
  • Lead retrofit projects involving excitation systems (EX2100, EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e, HMI), Generator Protection Systems, and Power System Stabilization systems.
  • Support warranty administration and troubleshooting.
  • Provide timely, accurate reports internally and externally.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through quality commitment.
  • Support business growth initiatives.
  • Trace software documentation and implement control modifications.
  • Read and modify software sequencing, set up hardware/software for Gas/Steam Turbine Excitation systems, and implement software changes.
  • Provide technical direction for installation, testing, troubleshooting, start-up/shut-down, and operation of turbine excitation systems.

Special Role Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively for projects and field assignments.
  • Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to spend significant time away from home for training and assignments.

Skills for Success

You should be an experienced Electrical Excitation Field Engineer with successful installation and outage experience. Additionally, you should:

  • Support outages actively and seek answers to questions as they arise.
  • Be familiar with MS Office and other software tools supporting HMI and application changes.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and troubleshoot with a hands-on approach.

Formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not mandatory; experience and professional achievements are most important.
