Job Title: Experienced Social Worker (AWLD Transition Service)
Location: Lewisham
Rate: Up to £35 per hour
An excellent opportunity has become available for an Experienced Social Worker to join the AWLD Transition Service team at Lewisham Borough Council. This team is dedicated to supporting young adults aged 18-25 with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities as they transition to adulthood.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will assess and support vulnerable young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities as they transition into adulthood. Your role will involve using strength-based assessment techniques and providing tailored guidance to meet their social care needs. You will also ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks, such as completing Community DoLS assessments, while collaborating with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
Qualifications and Experiences:
To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience as a Social Worker. You should have experience working with young people with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities, as well as familiarity with strength-based assessment techniques. Legal literacy, including the ability to complete Community DoLS assessments, is essential. Prior experience in a similar adult social care environment is required. You must also have Social Work England registration and be eligible to work in the UK
