Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is recruiting for a Social Worker in our Family Help Team based in Warwick. The role supports families across stages from early targeted support to court work, building plans that keep children safe and together where possible.

You will need a professional Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. We offer supervision, wellbeing focus, annual leave plus additional benefits and a market supplement for experienced social workers.

Job description

Our Family Help Team is a dynamic, committed and welcoming service, working alongside families at every stage of need. From early targeted support, through Children in Need, Edge of Care, Child Protection and Court work; we also support children in care until a clear plan for reunification or permanency is secured. This breadth of work makes our team varied, challenging and extremely rewarding. We are proud to be a truly multi-disciplinary team, bringing together Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, PCSOs and, soon, an NHS Nurse. By working collaboratively under one team, we are able to respond to families' needs holistically, reduce risk and focus on what matters most - keeping families safely together wherever possible. Our practice is firmly grounded in Restorative Principles. We work with families, supporting them to identify their strengths, understand challenges and create meaningful, achievable plans for positive change. Every family is supported to develop a plan that is individual to them and builds on their own capacity to achieve lasting outcomes. Our approach is about locality working, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education., We are recruiting for the role of Social Worker in our Family Help Team, The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.

Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.

  • Professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW)
  • In depth experience in children's social work and experience of complex cases
  • Have excellent analytical skills with ability to make well informed decisions
  • Can record and produce concise, effective, and accurate reports
  • Have good communication skills with the ability to build relationships, engage with children and families
  • Supportive managers who provide recognition and a robust supervision policy focussed on wellbeing and workload.
  • Full reimbursement of Social Work England annual fee.
  • A Volunteering & Wellbeing Day in addition to generous annual leave and an additional day at Christmas
  • We also offer a Refer a Friend package for some roles. Terms and Conditions apply, Full time 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 9am till 5.30pm and Friday 9am till 5pm

  • As part of our market supplement: Experienced Social Worker - Grade L & N: Up to £51,726.00 per annum. Including a £3,500 pro-rated market supplement which is subject to pension, tax and NI deductions - T&C's apply.

  • Year 2 Social Worker - Grade K
  • Year 3 Senior Social Worker - Grade L
  • Year 4 Advanced Social Worker - Grade N
