The Role: Experienced Social Worker -ESW (Croydon Adult Social Care Disability Team – 25- 65 years)
We are recruiting an Experienced Social Worker (ESW) to join the Disability Service in Croydon.As an ESW you can make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of some of Croydon’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged residents in Croydon. You will work alongside other professionals from a wide range of organisations, to offer a joined-up, collaborative approach to support vulnerable and disadvantaged residents live independently in their communities. In line the Council’s Transformation Plan 2024-29 you will adopt the customer first approach. Your shared goal will be to provide the best care and support in the community as far as possible.

You will be expected to carry a caseload and take part in overseeing screening, triage and duty service, including risk assessments and adult safeguarding assessments.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of Social Work Professional Standards as well as relevant legislation, national guidance, and frameworks in providing an adult social care service.
A sound understanding of the local authority’s statutory responsibility to safeguard vulnerable adults and the ability to to work with partners to manage this robustly in accordance with policies and procedures.
A comprehensive understanding of person-centred strengths-based social care.
Experience:
Substantial post-qualification experience of working in a statutory social care or health setting undertaking effective social care assessments and reviews and developing care and support plans that deliver personalised integrated care and support that helps people to maintain their independence and attain the outcomes they want.
Candidates must have must have good communication, decision-making, time management skills and ICT skills.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held on a date between 7th & 25th July 2025
